H1N1 flu wave has already peaked, should I get the shot?

Even though it seems not to be very threatening, there is a lot of concern about the H1N1 flu. The adminstration and the medical community are working hard to contain the flu and spread the information about preventing it. The parents on the other hand are getting more and more confused. Why?

H1N1 flu wave has already peaked, should I get the shot?

The H1N1flu started earlier than the normal seasonal flu and in some states, the flu wave has suppoosedly peaked. But this does not mean one should not get vaccinated since the flu season can last as late as April or May. It’s possible that there may be waves of 2009 H1N1 activity during the 2009-2010 flu season that hit communities more than once over the course of the season.

If you are vaccinated, even if the next wave is stronger, you would be safer than not being vaccinated.

I know of many parents who are still skeptical of getting the flu shots. As a matter of fact, I met a mom today who never gets any kinds of flu shot for herself or her family. Is she kind of putting her kids in danger?
