The goverenment is procuring two types of vaccines for the 2009 H1N1 flu:
The 2009 H1N1 flu shot:

This vaccine is similar to the seasonal flu vaccine and is given with a needle, usually in the arm. This type of vaccine contains the H1N1 virus that is already killed. Therefore, this vaccine allows the body to develop the antibodies for the virus but does not make the person fee sick after getting the vaccine. Since the virus is dead, it is suitable for all the groups who can get the vaccines - including pregnant women and people older than 6 months and having chronic medical conditions.

The 2009 H1N1 nasal spray flu vaccine:

The nasal spray vaccine contains live virus but in a weakened state. The virus in the weakened state do not cause the flu. The nasal spray vaccine is sprayed in the nose and one is supposed to simply inhale which takes the virus inside the body thus activating the body's immune system to create the required antibodies. Since the virus is live, this is more suitable for healthy people 2 years to 49 years of age and who are not pregnant.
