What are the emergency warning signs of flu complications?

Even though it seems not to be very threatening, there is a lot of concern about the H1N1 flu. The adminstration and the medical community are working hard to contain the flu and spread the information about preventing it. The parents on the other hand are getting more and more confused. Why?

What are the emergency warning signs of flu complications?

The emergency warning signs in children are:
- Fast breathing or trouble breathing
- Bluish skin color
- Not drinking enough fluids
- Not waking up or not interacting
- Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
- Flu like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
- Fever with a rash

In adults, the emergency warning signs are:
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
- Sudden dizziness
- Confusion
- Severe or persistent vomiting.
